Quick Tip: Washing Fruits & Vegetables
After talking with holistic nutritionist, Natasha of Raw Tasha, I learned that the best way to wash your fruits and vegetables is to…
Put food into a sink
Fill sink with lukewarm water
Add baking soda and apple cider vinegar to the water (at the same time)
Let it sit for 20 minutes
Rinse
You can also use Natural Veggie Wash or ECOS Fruit + Veggie Wash as a quicker option.
Another method for produce that is too delicate to soak, such as berries, certificated nutritionist Karina Heinrich suggests using a DIY spray: 1 cup water, 2 tablespoons baking soda and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Spray onto produce and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse.
Stay safe!
