December in the Trenches

As the temperature continues to drop and all hope of it being any warmer than 30 degrees is lost, out come the coats! I look for unique jackets with different textures and tones to keep my outfits fresh despite having to wear a coat everyday (probably until March!)

Trench coats are a great option for a different look in December. Although typically not very warm you can style them with a cozy sweater or knit layer. They are not bulky which is great for the times when you need to wear a coat but don’t necessarily want to have to deal with stowing it away once you arrive somewhere. There are a huge range of styles out there from classic brown trenches to bright colors and patterns.

Check out this Faux Crocodile Trench from Nanushka. I adore the texture, button accents and hood! This is a great piece to throw on over a casual office outfit. Paired here with a Helmut Lang Sweater and Maison Margiela MM6 Pants, this look is sleek and sophisticated.
