Blooming Creativity with Loewe & Cou Cou Studios

Last week I stopped by Loewe Chicago for a floral arrangement class that was as chic and playful as the brand itself.

The event was hosted in collaboration with Cou Cou Studios, a floral design studio that creates editorial, art-forward arrangements for brands, businesses, and anyone looking to say something beautiful through flowers.

Think: florals with an editorial eye.

I was invited by Stephanie, who works at Loewe and somehow always knows what I’ll love. (She was right, again.)

The bouquet we created was inspired by Paula’s Ibiza 2025, and Loewe being Loewe, it wasn’t just flowers. There were yellow calla lilies, amaranth, thistle, asparagus stems and yes, even sprigs of rosemary and tiny clusters of tomatoes. Earthy, bold, and a little surreal like a Loewe runway moment in a vase. The Chicago boutique quietly opened in 2022 in the Gold Coast, and it’s a space that feels more like a gallery than a store. Every detail is intentional, the design is stunning, and somehow you leave with both creative inspiration and a wishlist.

Here’s the bouquet I made, though I can’t take full credit. Tess from Cou Cou Studios was the guiding genius behind the scenes, helping me bring it all together:

#MDinsider Tips:

  • Change flower water every other day just put the vase under the faucet and let cold water replace the current water.

  • Cut stems at an angle to help them drink more water (it makes a big difference).

  • While this has nothing to do with floral care, this Loewe Tomato Clutch is ICONIC. If you can get your hands on it, you must!

  • Remove any leaves that would sit below the water line to keep bacteria from building up.

  • While creating a bouquet, consider color, texture, and height—contrast is everything.

  • Odd numbers (3, 5, 7…) always look better in arrangements visually balanced without looking too perfect.

  • Cluster similar colors for a bold impact or spread them out for a softer, more romantic vibe.

If you haven’t visited Loewe yet, go. Their spring collection is in, the space is gorgeous, and if you're lucky, you’ll stumble into something unexpectedly creative (or at the very least, a handbag that will haunt your dreams in the best way).

Stephanie, thank you for having me! If you need anything at Loewe, she’s your girl.
